Celebrities Rock Eclectic Braids On This Week's Best Beauty List

We'll never grow tired of wearing braids. They're such a great style to wear when you just don't have time to wash your hair or you'd like to give yourself a break from the flat iron.

The celebrities who landed on our best beauty list this week have inspired us to take our braid skills to the next level. Taraji P. Henson's mane man Cesar Ramirez gave the star a side-braided 'do he coined "Urban Veronica Lake." Olivia Palermo's hairstylist Lacy Redway used latex to fashion a custom headband to adorn her rope braid. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani went all "Game of Thrones" with waist-lengthfishtail braids.

See these interesting braided hairstyles and more below. Tell us which look is your favorite in the comments section!

Taraji P. Henson

  • Henson looked white hot (even in a robe) as she geared up to host "Taraji and Terrence's White Hot Holidays" on Fox. Celebrity stylist and Mizani artist Cesar Ramirez came up with this "Urban Veronica Lake" look by combining voluminous waves with intricate side braids. He prepped Henson's damp hair with Mizani Therma Strength Heat Protecting Serum to minimize breakage while blow-drying and curling.
  • Olivia Palermo

Gabrielle Union

The "Being Mary Jane" star looked absolutely regal with her box braids and stark white floor-length dress. It's rare that we see this braided hairstyle in the cold-weather months, but Union is proof that it works for every season. To keep your natural hair healthy and moisturized while wearing a protective style like this, be sure to condition it with oils like coconut and argan.

Video Alert! How To Nail Strobing

Tricky time of year for make-up, winter is. Skin looks a little grey, cheekbones a little less pronounced, and that summery glow has left the building. It’s tempting to really go at the bronzer in an attempt to reclaim the look we refer to as ‘health’, but this year we are delighted to have an alternative that won’t leave us looking like a TOWIE extra: strobing.
In case you missed the biggest make-up trend of the year, here it is in a nutshell: it’s highlighting, with a purpose. And you really want to be doing it now: first, it’ll accentuate your bone structure by highlighting ‘high points’ of the face (don’t worry - the video makes it all easy); second, it adds lustre and radiance to the face. We think of it as a supermodel glow in a few flicks of a brush.
To nail the technique, we enlisted Smashbox to show us how to look effortlessly healthy - but not oily of face - with the help of strobing in the above video. Go forth and shine.

Hair Straighteners: The 10 Best Styles For Your Hair

Rexfeatures-2133995ab

Hair straighteners are a must for creating frizz free, super sleek locks. Find your perfect pair and discover beautiful tresses, every day...
Hair straighteners are arguably the most revolutionary styling tool to launch in the last 10 years.

No longer the bulky, hair-burning flat irons of the late 90s, today's versions are seriously sleek, lightweight wands that can actually care for your hair as you style.

There's no denying straighteners have changed our lives, allowing us to create super straight 'dos within minutes or long-lasting curls at the flick of your wrist. But whether you're beating the frizz or totally banishing your ringlets, hair straighteners are an incredible tool for creating a host of varied looks.

Can you seriously imagine not owning a pair? Neither can we.

GHD hair straighteners are the stand-out brand when it comes to transforming waves and curls into poker-straight strands.

This GHD Eclipse iron is the only hair straightener on the market to use tri-zone technology - six sensors in the iron plates that ensure a constant heat is maintained - to tackle any hair type quickly and easily.

But don't dismiss other brands - Corioliss and H2D VI hair straighteners are starting to make waves in the flat iron department and shouldn't be overlooked when deciding which hair straighteners are for you.

Some of the biggest names in the industry - think James Brown, Richard Ward and Lisa Shepherd - would gladly rank Cloud 9 among their pick of the best hair straighteners.

And with the level of technology moving faster than ever before, it's not surprising that we are starting to see hair-loving fusions. Remington's classic Shine Therapy Hair Straightener has been saturated with Argan Oil to help add a glossy shine to your locks.

Healthy-looking hair and a style that will hold for hours? We're sold.

Discover the best hair straighteners on the market right now and find out which pair are best for your needs.

Gorgeous tresses on a daily basis? Yes please.

This Is An Alarming Situation For Your Face If You Have So Much Gluten, Sugar & Wine

Post 03

The choices which we make regarding our lifestyle, it affects our lives. When it comes to our diet plan, so it’s all about what you eat so it will reflect. Remember there are few things which may leave the worse effects after you have them. This post is all about such stuff.
In her book, Reverse The Signs Of Ageing: The Revolutionary Inside-Out Plan To Glowing, Youthful Skin, Naturopathic doctor and skincare specialist Nigma Talib writes, “The second a patient walks into my clinic I can immediately tell the sort of foods they tend to over-eat just by checking the way their face is ageing.” Talib has personally treated celebrities such as Sienna Miller and Charlotte Tilbury and she is recognized as a global expert in skincare. She has classified common food-caused ageing patterns and has categorized them into the following groups; “dairy face,” “gluten face,” “sugar face,” and yes, sadly, “wine face.”
Please note: the information provided here is not intended to replace professional medical advice.

1. The Dairy Face

The symptoms may include puffy eyelids, dark circles or bags under the eyes, and little white spots or bumps on and around the chin. It’s very common for people to gradually lose their ability to digest dairy over time and this can result in mild to severe lactose intolerance. This intolerance causes inflammation in your body when dairy products are consumed, hence the swollen eyes. Some milk also contains hormones that have been injected into the cows and these hormones can disrupt your body’s natural hormone production, leading to acne and skin irritation.

Tips To Fix It

Do you think you could have an intolerance or sensitivity towards dairy? try avoiding it for three weeks. If dairy is indeed the culprit responsible for your skin problems, not only will your face clear up, your digestion and overall energy levels should improve.

2. The Gluten Face

The symptoms may include puffy red cheeks and dark spots or patches of pigmentation on and around the chin. Gluten is mixture of two proteins that are found in wheat and other similar grains. Gluten gives breads and pastries the elasticity that makes them so delectable. While gluten sensitivity is a relatively new term, it is estimated that 18 million people in the United States suffer from it. Gluten can disrupt your natural hormones and lead to skin discoloration, inflammation, rosacea, and a series of other unpleasant side effects.
via Daily Mail

Tips To Fix It

It depends on the extent of your sensitivity, it is definitely smart to see a doctor and inquire about gluten in your diet. If gluten is responsible for your skin problems, cut it entirely from your diet. Stay hydrated and be sure to consume the recommended amount of fiber daily.
